A weather advisory has been issued for this weekend as festival goers make their way to Stradbally.

Wet and windy conditions are expected over EP weekend which could cause some disruption.

The advisory is in place from 7pm on Friday until 7pm on Monday.

Alan O'Reilly from Carlow Weather says there will be spells of wet weather in County Laois to contend with.

He's advising those to stay in their tent until midday to avoid most of the wet conditions.

"An advisory is not a weather warning. It's kind of like a heads up, could get wet and windy in places at times," he says.

"The worst of it at the moment looks to be probably early Saturday morning or late Friday night."

"Prepare for rain, especially on Saturday and early Sunday. Sunday night - you might want to think about someone coming to collect you!"

So if you're braving the Electric Picnic campsite this weekend - pack the umbrella and prepare for the worst.
