Met Éireann hoping to include warnings for the North in forecasts from September

There had been online criticism of forecast graphics that appeared to show storms ending at the border.

Weather warnings for the North of Ireland could be included on Met Éireann forecasts from September.

Forecasters here are working with the UK Met Office on providing the details.

There had been online criticism of forecast graphics that appeared to show storms ending at the border.

Evelyn Cusack from Met Éireann says they hope to have a new system up and running before the next storm system period in September.

''Hopefully this will be up and running by then (September), but it's dependent on a few things and obviously things are bit held up at the moment'', she said.
