A 19-year-old man from Belfast has been put behind bars after admitting he stole a chocolate bar.
The Irish Independent reports that the teenager was sentenced to a month in a young offenders centre for the theft of a £1 (€1.16) Kit Kat.
Image Credit: PixabayBelfast Magistrates' Court heard he stole a salted caramel flavour Kit Kat from a Co-Op store on the city's Upper Malone Road on Tuesday.
Prosecutors said he also shouted and swore at customers.
The man's defence lawyer told the court that his client can't remember the incident because he was so drunk.
The teenager confirmed he was happy to go to the young offenders centre.
