It's been the coldest October since 2009.
As you may have noticed when you stepped outside this morning, it's cold. Really cold.
And it's only going to get worse, as we continue to shiver through one of the coldest Octobers in nearly 10-years.
After frosty and icy conditions saw the temperature drop to -4C in some places on Monday night, there will be little respite this evening (Tuesday), with Met Eireann predicting chills as low as -1C overnight.
Met Eireann said: "A clear cold evening and night with lowest temperatures of -1 to +1 degrees; frost in places.''
"Showers will affect western coastal areas but most other parts will remain dry."
Despite the cold, the weather for Halloween (Wednesday) will be mostly dry - however parents and children are still advised to wrap up as temperatures will remain low.
Met Eireann said: "A bright day with good dry periods and some sunshine, but also with heavy showers at times. Highs of 8 to 10 degrees in westerly breezes.''
Turn for the worst.
However, things are predicted to take a turn for the worst on Friday with Storm Deirdre expected to approach Ireland.
Cathal Nolan of Midland Weather Channel told RSVP Live: "Certainly the main focus for next weeks weather centres around the possibly stormy conditions that may develop through Thursday and into Friday as an Atlantic storm, possibly storm Deirdre, develops off the west coast before crossing the country."
"At present the strongest winds would appear to be in the northwest of the country and along Atlantic coastal counties however there’s a considerable amount of time for the storms track and intensity to change, so do take notice of all weather forecasts and warnings."
"In the meantime much colder conditions are expected across the country, with temperatures by night reaching as low as -4 or -5 degrees Celsius. Day time temperatures are expected to rise to no more than 5-9 degrees Celsius, warmest in the west," he said.
