1. The novelty
Part of the fun of going to a drive-in cinema is just the fact that you're going to a drive-in cinema!
How cool is that?! People in the 50s and 60s don't know how lucky they were.

2. Temperature control
We're Irish. We get cold.
Taking a blanket to the cinema equals weird looks...
Packing your duvet in the back seat of your car while you cuddle up on the back seat at the drive-in? One-Hundred-Percent acceptable.
You and your date will spend the entirety of the movie in your own little dome of complete comfort.

3. Talk and laugh away!
Is it a first date? Are you both a little nervous? Sometimes sitting in silence next to each other in a theatre can be a little awkward.
Well at the drive-in, you can cut some of the tension with some banter and laughs in the car.
Without being shushed by angry movie goers.
4. Absolutely ZERO snack guilt
Ever been walking back from the snack bar with an armful of deliciousness, only to receive countless looks of judgement?
Pfft, not a bother at the drive-in, you and your date can load up on all the movie watching goodness your car boot can hold!
No shame.
5. Shifting in the backseat
Where it would usually be frowned upon to be shifting away in the middle of a jam-packed seated cinema.
Your backseat is like your own private kissing booth, free from disapproving eyes.

Like the sound of that? Well lucky you! Because Retro Drive in Movies is coming to Ballybrit Racecourse in Galway!
