Students are most likely to get a first at Trinity College Dublin.

The Higher Education Authority has denied there's pressure on universities to award more top degrees.

It comes as figures in the Irish Times show 1 in 5 students are receiving a first class honours in Trinity, while 72 percent are getting a first or a 2-1 in DCU.

It appears to be tougher to achieve a similar result in the University of Limerick, with 53 percent achieving similar results.

The figures has led to concerns that universities were dumbing down when it came to grades awarded to students.
