''There is going a jet stream developing over Ireland during next week.''
While it appears Cyclone Leslie will not hit Ireland next week, heavy rain and high winds may still affect the country, according to Met Eireann.
The national forecaster said that while the tropical cyclone brewing in the Atlantic will not be making its way towards the country, a jet stream will still lead to wild weather.
A forecaster for Met Eireann told the Irish Mirror: “There is going a jet stream developing over Ireland during next week, and it is going to bring in some wet and windy weather at times.”

Cyclone Leslie was around 595 miles east of Bermuda on Tuesday morning and is moving towards the south-west over the Central Atlantic with maximum sustained winds of 65 mph, according to the US National Hurricane Centre.
Some forecasters in the UK are predicting that Cyclone Leslie might make a shock U-turn towards the UK unleashing powerful gales and torrential downpours, however Met Eireann disagrees.
“It doesn’t look like it’s going to land itself coming in over Ireland.
“Looking at the charts it looks like it’s going to track across the southern Atlantic,” a forecaster said.
