''How can someone do this to a 4-year-old child?''
Two teachers in the US have resigned amid allegations they were using cable-ties to bind children’s hands behind their backs, as a bizarre form of punishment not behaving.
According to WSB-TV 2 some of the students at Oak View Elementary in Georgia subjected to the punishment were just four-years-old.
The allegations came after a child alerted a parent of the disturbing practice. The parent then called the school for an explanation.
One of the mothers, who didn’t want to be named, told the TV station that she wants every parent to be aware of what happened to her daughter and another student.
“It just breaks my heart that I can’t send my child to school and for her to be safe, learn and get an education,” she said.
“I said, ‘OMG that’s like being in jail in handcuffs. How can someone do this to a 4-year-old child?’ Every time I talk about it I get emotional.”
In addition to the zip-tie punishment, the students also claimed the two female teachers threatened to 'throw spiders on them if they misbehaved.
The mother said her daughter hasn’t been the same since the alleged incident and she wanted the teacher’s “to pay” for what happened.
“She said that one teacher tied her up and the other cut it loose,” she said.
“She said, ‘Mummy, I was scared to tell you because I thought I was gonna get in trouble’.”

''I want them to pay.''
The school reportedly sent out a letter informing parents of the allegations after they received a complaint about the incident.
According to WSB the letter said that the teachers involved had been suspended pending an investigation into the allegations.
The two women resigned from their roles on Friday but the distraught mother said having them resign wasn’t enough.
“I want them to pay. I want them to not have a license to teach because they don’t need to teach. Who would do this? Would they like this to happen to their own kids,” she said.
