"The latest charts on Helene show its path is still heading for Ireland''
Met Éireann has said they're expecting "very disturbed weather" to head towards Ireland at the beginning of next week, however there is still "a lot of uncertainty."
The Met says there's "a risk of some extremely windy conditions with heavy rainfall on Monday night or Tuesday but there is a large degree of uncertainty in details at present."
Reputable weather outlet Carlow Weather seems to echo the same, stating: "The latest charts on Helene show its path is still heading for Ireland with strong gusts on Monday night as she moves through Ireland."
Latest charts on #Helene show its path still heading for Ireland with strong gusts Monday night as she moves through Ireland. Still a long way off and the track will chop and change but something to keep a close eye on. pic.twitter.com/3LVOHGCklC

Outlook for the rest of the week
In the meantime though, we can expect rain, wind and lots of it.
As stated on their website, today will be cloudy and breezy in western and northern areas with showery rain at times.
It's set to be brighter in the east and south though with some sunny spells. However, showers are set to fall later in the day.
These showers are expected to be persistent in many places later tonight, but they'll be staying well scattered in the south and southeast.
Friday morning will see persistent and heavy rainfall throughout the country which will turn into scattered showers throughout the day.
As for the weekend, the rain will be strong in Ulster, Connacht and parts of West Munster during Saturday morning.
On Sunday morning, scattered showers will develop through Connacht, Ulster and west Munster.
So, looks like normal service has returned!
