She's witnessed world wars, abdications and family tragedies, but there’s still one day that haunts Queen Elizabeth.
In her 92-years on this planet, Queen Elizabeth has lived through some fairly serious events.
From bombing raids during World War Two, to the loss of family members.
However, there is one day that sticks out in her mind as the worst of all - The 1982 Hyde Park bombings - which she describes as “the most ghastly day of my life,” according to Andrew Parker Bowles.
Eleven soldiers and seven horses were killed by the blasts, which were set off in London's Hyde Park and Regent’s Park on July 20.
Parker Bowles, 78, whose ex wife Camilla is married to Prince Charles, was leading the Household Cavalry on the day.
He told The Express: “It was a nice, sunny day and suddenly one heard this explosion one heard all the time in Northern Ireland.
“One of the barriers opened and someone said, ‘They’ve blown up the Guard’. So we ran down to where the smoke was rising.
“The first horse I saw was Sefton. He had a bloody great hole in him but he managed to pull through.”
Andrew later spoke to the Queen that day, where she revealed to him that it was ‘the most ghastly' day of her life.
