Tragic, Nora Quoirin.

"Hearts are broken".

The preliminary results from the post mortem on the body of Nora Quoirin are hoped to reveal a vital insight into what exactly caused her death.

The 15-year-old's naked body was discovered yesterday, ten days after she went missing from the resort in Malaysia where she was staying.

Journalist Sumisha Naidu said the results of the post mortem will determine the course of the investigation:

''What we are hoping for is to get some answers as to whether there was any physical harm caused to her and get an indicator as to whether a crime was committed.

And how did she end up in this ravine two kilometers away from the resort.''

''We love her infinitely.''

Meanwhile Nora's family have said their "hearts are broken".

In a statement, her family thanked the people who had been searching in jungle near the resort.

"We would like to thank all the people that have been searching for Nóra and trying their best to find her," the statement read.

"We thank the local people here and those far and wide for their prayers and support at this time. Nóra has brought people together, especially from France, Ireland, Britain and Malaysia. To all our friends and family at home, we can't thank you enough for all your love.

"Nóra is at the heart of our family. She is the truest, most precious girl and we love her infinitely. The cruelty of her being taken away is unbearable. Our hearts are broken. We will always love our Nóra."

The results of the post mortem have been delayed until this afternoon police have said.
