Tree planting with the Claremorris No Name! Club

This week Brian and Kayte spoke to Hannah and Fionnán from the Claremorris No Name Club in Mayo.

No Name! Clubs are run by, and for young people aged 15-18 years, and enables young members to organise and enjoy positive alternatives to alcohol and drug-centred activities. It increases awareness of the effects of alcohol and drugs, to help young people make informed choices when they are older.

Hannah, Fionnán and the rest of the Claremorris No Name! Club decided to do tree planting project.

This tree planting is a part of the action project they are participating in with and aims to help combat the future decline in trees in the local area due to the ash tree infestation.

Because of Covid-19 restrictions, this was lots of the members first in-person event with the club.

Listen back to Hannah and Fionnán talking all about their project:

Since their interview aired, Hannah and Fionnán found out they were selected for the National Youth Awards being held online on the 29th of May.

Best of luck guys!!!
