Mayo Hometown Heroes Cycle 400km Across Ireland In Child Cancer Fundraiser

On the 29th of May, Una Byrne and Elisha Lavelle set off on their 400km cycle across Ireland (coast to coast) over the course of 7 days. They took on this cycle to help raise money for bringing a Daisy Lodge to Co. Mayo which is a respite centre for children with cancer.

Cancer Fund For Children is a safe haven for children who are unfortunately diagnosed with cancer. It offers them a resting place away from the four walls of the hospital. It is a place where they can go and meet other children and know they are not alone. They provide residential group support for children and young people diagnosed with cancer. These activities bring young people going through a similar experience together to have fun and make new friends.

Elisha told Cooper and Kayte about the seven day route:

  1. Poolbeg Lighthouse
  2. Mullingar
  3. Athlone,
  4. Galway
  5. Oughterard
  6. Killary
  7. Westport
  8. Achill

If you would like to follow their journey please give 'Cancer Fund For Children' a follow and you can also follow (Elisha_l95) and Una's (Unab16) Instagram as they document the full trip.
