Only in Kerry...

A woman was ejected from a polling station, after arriving dressed as a celery.

The incident took place earlier today in Kilgarvan in Co Kerry.

According to reports in the Journal, the lady and her husband were waiting outside the polling station when it opened at 7AM.

It's believed she is a vegan and this was part of an anti- meat eating campaign.

Several members of the Healy-Rae clan were also present with sitting TDs Michael and Danny going to cast their votes.

Gardai were present at the scene and "handled the situation well", according to country registrar Padraig Burke.

The quote of the day goes to Johnny Healy-Rae, son of TD Danny Healy Rae who said;

“I have no meas on celery- there’s no meat in it.”
