He calls it a 'Tayto Smashie'

We like the name, but we're not so sure with his ingredients.

As Irish people, we all know, and have had, a crisp sandwich.

The ideal little snack when you're feeling a treat, feeling lazy or it's midnight and why not.

You get your two slices of bread, you spread on some butter, pop on your crisps and crush it down.

Now while Jamie Dornan has the crushing method down, he added something we're not really on board with.

While on US chat show, Jimmy Kimmel live, crew bring out a tray of crisp sandwich ingredients so the actor can demonstrate the Irish delicacy.

Dornan takes two slices of white bread, which is totally perfect.

But then he slabs on a load of mayonaise...

Which is totally not what we do.

After that, he props on some ham, and then the whole bag of Tayto crisps.

And then he shows why he calls it a 'Tayto Smashie' - and proceeds to crush the sandwich, which is music to our ears.

It loooked great, but we're not sure about the mayonaise, just like some people in the comments section.

One person said, "You cannot beat a tayto sandwich, but this version is disgusting! Sorry Jamie haha brennans bread, kerry gold butter and tayto..."

While another commented: "I miss Tayto sandwiches!!! But I'd never but mayo on mine, Irish butter is the best and Brennan's bread. The last time I was home, the first thing that passed my lips was a Tayto crisp."

And probably our favourite comment: "I have never heard of Mayo on a tayto sandwich. I’m afraid he’s made that up".

What way do you make yours?
