Northern Ireland feels aftermath of earthquake in Scotland

The UK gets 200 - 300 quakes each year.

Residents in Scotland had an unexpected wake-up call overnight.

Shortly before 2AM, homes near the town of Lochgilphead were rocked by an earthquake.

The quake measured 3.1 on the Richter Scale and struck 10km below the Earth's surface.

According to The Irish Times, residents in Northern Ireland also felt the shake.

The UK gets between 200 - 300 quakes each year - but ones the strength as last night's happen an average of once every three years.
