The roof weighed an estimated 12 tonnes.

A sever gust of wind blew the roof across the schoolyard before dumping it on a nearby pitch.

Thankfully none of the 3 staff or 39 pupils were injured.

Mayo was one of seven counties issued with a status yellow wind warning, which remains in place until 8PM this evening (Tuesday).

Elsewhere a yellow snow and ice warning is in place for 11 counties today.
