Normal People's Paul Mescal lost out on the Best Actor Award award at the Emmy's last night.

He was beaten by Mark Ruffalo for his role in I Know This Much is True.

His family were very sympathetic..

The Canadian series Schitt's Creek was the big winner of the night.

Succession got the Outstanding Drama Series prize.
