The broadcaster announced a number of changes today.

Xposé is being axed from Virgin Media Television.

The long-running fashion and entertainment show is being replaced by The Six O'Clock Show, which will air five days a week from next month. The TV channel today announced a major reshuffle that'll see 300 hours of extra live Irish programming - but no room for Xposé.

The revamp will bring about a brand new lunchtime news show gracing our TV screens. Live at 12 will be a one-hour news programme presented by Colette Fitzpatrick and promises to deliver the latest breaking news and sport with live reports from around the country and discussion on the big stories of the day.

The reshuffle will also mean an extra 30 minutes of Ireland AM. It'll now broadcast from 7am to 11am and Weekend AM will be rebranded to Ireland AM on Saturdays and Sundays with a combined team of presenters working across the seven days.

Elaine will move to a mid-morning timeslot of 11am until noon with a brand new studio to boot.

Pat Kiely, Managing Director, Virgin Media Television said:

"I would like to pay tribute to the Xposé team and all who worked on the show over the last twelve years. Xposé set the standard for entertainment reporting in an era before the proliferation of social media and leaves behind a genuine legacy in Irish entertainment journalism.”

The new schedule will go live on Monday 7th October.
