An investigation is underway after a man was assaulted in Co Offaly.
The man in his twenties was found with serious head injuries at Munny, Kilcormac at 6pm on Saturday evening.
He was taken to Tullamore General Hospital for treatment.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
They want to speak to anyone who was in the Kilcormac area on Saturday between 5:30pm and 6:30pm who may have seen anything suspicious.
