The woman calmly told him: "Don't worry, it's my first husband"!

A gardener in Siberia made a gristly discovery while planting potatoes.

The man found a skull - only for his wife to admit it was the remains of her first husband who she had murdered 21 years ago.

According to the Daily Mail, the woman revealed to her partner that she had axed her first spouse to death after he came home drunk and beat her.

She later dismembered his body and buried him in her potato patch in Luzino, a village in the Omsk region of Siberia.

The 60 year old reportedly remained calm and told her hubby:

"Don't worry - it's my first husband."

"Bury the remains, forget about it, and we won't tell the police."

However, he ignored her and reported the crime to officers.

The Russian Investigative Committee said the woman confessed to the murder.

She's been put under house arrest and faces a maximum penalty of ten years in prison.

A local said: "By planting potatoes this man may have saved his own life."
