I ain't saying you a gold digger.

A man in the UK who found a well under his living room floor 30 years ago is continuing to dig in a bid to find treasure.

Colin Steer and his wife Vanessa moved into their home in Plymouth, Devon in the 1980s and noticed a dip in the living room floor.

Colin dug down one foot and was amazed to discover a well.

However, the couple decided to cover it up as they had three young kids at the time.

But after Colin retired, he decided it was time to dig a little deeper, so to speak.

With the help of a friend, and a ladder and a bucket on a pulley system, he managed to dig down over five metres.

When he was one metre down, he found an old wooden sword with a leather sheaf.

Plans of the site show that the well dates back to the 16th century.

Colin told the Mirror he's determined to get to the bottom:

"I always wanted to dig it out to see if I could find a pot of gold at the bottom, so when I retired that's what I did."

"I was quite surprised really, I would have preferred it to be in the garden where I could have got at it a little easier."
