We can't get on board with this...
While we imagine there are a fair few perks to being a member of the Royal Family, not being able to have this food would almost make us reconsider joining.
Apparently, The Queen has no time for garlic. She doesn't like the smell or the taste, and she just won't have it in her house.
A fact of life that Meghan Markle — now a Duchess (of Sussex to be exact) — is just going to have to live with.
Each and every member of the royal family (and their dishes for that matter) have been told to avoid garlic when in public, or on tour.
Royal chef Darren McGrady was the one who revealed the royal’s dislike for garlic. He confirmed that both garlic and onions have been banned from royal menus for some time due to their ability to create bad breath.
“We can never serve anything with garlic or too much onions,” McGrady toldBusiness Insider.
Another former royal chef John Higgins agreed, telling The National Post: “The Queen is a wonderful lady, the royal family are wonderful people but they’re missing out on garlic because at Buckingham Palace you don’t cook with garlic. I suppose, in case you get the royal burp.”
Lizzy come on... Give it a go! Garlic sauce is sent straight from the heavens themselves.
