Avocados aren't going anywhere.

The popular but pricey green fruit is here to stay because people are now proposing with them.

Yep. Rather than throwing them in a salad or spreading them on toast, people are using avocados as engagement ring boxes.

We're all familiar with unconventional marriage proposals - be it the ring in a slice of cake trick or public proposals in the style of Idris Elba (or the Late Late Show couple).

But the avocado proposal is on another level!

However, we don't think many people would enjoy putting on a ring that had been sitting in a slimy avocado.

In our humble opinion, an avocado proposal should only be acceptable if the couple met in the fruit and veg aisle in Tesco.
