Retro Drive in Movies is coming to Ballybrit Racecourse!

In a time before tinder took the romance out of the dating scene... And before Netflix hijacked family movie night... The drive in cinema reigned supreme.

A few blankets in the back, a mountain-load of snacks, adjusting the seats to maximum comfort and just kicking back and relaxing...  Sounds like a dream evening out, right?!

Well, we at iRadio are delighted to announce that we’re bringing it back, in conjunction with Retro Drive-in Movies.

Over three-nostalgia packed evenings at Ballybrit Racecourse in Galway, upto 250 carloads of movie goers will get to experience the magic of the largest Mobile LED Screen in the entire World.

And don’t we have some blockbusters in store! A perfect mix of spooky and supernatural:

Friday Oct 19th:

To kick it all off, at 8pm you can go back to where it all began for ‘the boy who lived,’ as Harry discovers Hogwarts for the very first time in the iconic first installment in the Harry potter series.

It is of course, Harry Potter and The Philosophers Stone.

Saturday Oct 20th:

The magic continues at 2.45pm as Harry and Ron take a trip into the enchanted forest in the famous Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets.

At 6.45pm it’s a dose of Disney delight, with 1993 cult classic Hocus Pocus! (sold out)

If you’re afraid of the dark, you might want to keep the interior car light on for this one... The iconic Scream will hit the big screen at 9.30pm.

Sunday Oct 21st:

The third (and arguably the best) of the Harry Potter series will take centre stage at 3.00pm with Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban.

Let’s be honest... once just isn’t enough... So at 6.45pm we’re giving the witches from Hocus Pocus (sold out) some more air time!

Finally, we’re going out with a bang with our final film It’s one of the most iconic horror films ever made, if you haven’t seen it, you simply have to be at The Exorcist at 9.15pm.

Sentimentality overload! We know this year has already been moving at a frightening pace.... but can it not just move a little faster so it’s October the 19th already?

We’re seriously excited about this!
