...it follows a long campaign.

Alice Johnson has been freed from prison after her case was raised by Kim Kardashian West at the White House.

The 63 year old Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother had been in jail for 22 years for first-time non-violent drug offences.

After becoming aware of Alice's case via social meida, Kim Kardashian joined a long-running campaign for her release.

Kim’s attorney, Shawn Holley, got a legal team together for Alice which had been paid for by Kim herself.

The KUWYK's star met with President Trump at the White House to discuss Alice Johnson's case.

Alice was pardoned by President Trump and has been reunited with her family.

Some news sites in the States are reporting that dozens of other pardons have also been prepared for Trump to consider, but names of those have not been disclosed.

The White House Statement said

Ms. Johnson has accepted responsibility for her past behavior and has been a model prisoner over the past two decades,

While this Administration will always be very tough on crime, it believes that those who have paid their debt to society and worked hard to better themselves while in prison deserve a second chance.

Speaking to the media upon her release, Alice said it was Kim who told her she was free.

"This is a miracle day", she said, "this is one of the greatest days of my life, the most unexpected thing to happen to me in my life... When they all came on, then I heard Kim Kardashian's voice and she was the one that told me it had happened, that I was free, that I was going to rejoin my family."
