A baby boy who was born deaf has been granted the miracle of hearing.
Five-month old Alex was fitted with a cochlear implant and was then able to hear his mother's voice for the first time.
Liverpool hospital Alder Hey Children's Hospital shared a video of the special moment, which shows Alex overcome with happiness when he hears his Mum speaking.
The tweet reads "Baby Alex was born with Bilateral Moderate Sensorineural hearing loss, making him almost deaf ? This is the amazing moment he is fitted with his new hearing aids and hears his mummy’s voice clearly for the first time".
