A 7 year old boy is YouTube's highest earner

This year's highest-paid YouTube star is a seven year old boy from the US.

Ryan of Ryan ToysReview topped the list by Forbes magazine, earning $22 million (approx. €19m) in the 12 months leading up to June 1st, 2018.

The first grader has attracted 17 million followers and 26 billion views since he set up his channel two years ago.

Ryan, who unboxes toys and reviews them on the video-sharing site, has his own line of toys in Walmart and Target.

In an interview with NBC last month, Ryan admitted that he wants to continue playing games when he grows up by becoming a game developer.

He also revealed the secret behind his popularity: "I'm entertaining and I'm funny."

An Irish man is among the top ten in Forbes' YouTube rich list.

Millionaire Seán is originally from Offaly but lives in the UK

Seán McLoughlin is a video game commentator on the channel jacksepticeye.

The 28 year old has estimated earnings of €15.7 million from his videos.
