Looking for a holiday on a budget this year? The cheapest European holiday destinations this summer have been revealed.

Consumer group Which? has analysed more than 4,500 package deals and found that the likes of the Amalfi Coast, Malta and various Greek islands are among the cheapest.

The research also found that some of the traditional low-cost options like Bulgaria and Turkey didn't even make the top 10.

The study analysed room-only, self-catered and bed and breakfast accommodation for seven nights over a period in August.

The Greek island of Kalymnos fared the best with a week’s stay costing €990 (£847) per person on average, including flights and transfers. The Greek islands of Thassos and Lefkada were also good value, coming second and third on the list.

The Costa Brava took fourth place, fifth was Italy’s Venetian Riviera while the Amalfi Coast came in at sixth.
