How The Grinch Stole Christmas - 3pm, UTV
A Christmas classic!
Whoville doesn't know what's about to hit it after local little girl Cindy-Lou Who becomes fascinated with a grouchy creature living in the mountains. But her efforts to make him part of their celebrations leave him more bitter than ever, and chaos ensues as he sets about ruining the holiday.
Based on the Dr Seuss book, with Jim Carrey, Taylor Momsen, Jeffrey Tambor and Molly Shannon.
Paddington - 3pm, BBC1
The story of a lovably naive bear from darkest Peru, who's forced to start a new life in London.
He finds modern Britain to be very different from the stories told to him by his aunt, but makes a new home with a kindly family. But a sinister taxidermist wants him stuffed and turned into a museum exhibit.
Starring Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins and Nicole Kidman, with the voice of Ben Whishaw.
Die Hard - 11.15pm, UTV
Like it or lump it - this IS a Christmas movie!
New York cop John McClane visits Los Angeles to see his family over the Christmas holiday. Stopping off at his wife's place of work, he realises armed men have taken over the building and are holding the corporation's staff to ransom - and only he has the ability to fight back.

Friday, 23rd
Love Actually - 9.30pm, RTE 1
Ten interlinked stories of people searching for and finding love.
While the newly elected, bachelor British prime minister is smitten by a junior staff member at 10 Downing Street, a heartbroken writer heads for France to get over a failed relationship, and a faded rock star aims to reinvent himself in time for Christmas.

Bridesmaids - 9pm, ITV2
A disastrously disorganised woman is asked to be maid of honour at her best friend's wedding.
Taking charge of the bridal celebrations, she tries her best to give her pal and the rest of the bridesmaids the time of their lives, but as her efforts slide into chaos she finds the wife of the groom's boss is keen to take her position as bridal party boss.

Saturday 24th
Miracle on 34th Street - 1.45pm, RTE 1
A six-year-old raised by her Mum to believe that Santa Claus isn't real, has a change of heart after meeting a department store Father Christmas who claims to be the man himself.
After the shopping center Santa is accused of being a fake, his new friends engage a lawyer to prove his true identity.
Remake of the 1947 family drama, with Richard Attenborough, Elizabeth Perkins, Mara Wilson and Dylan McDermott.
Home Alone - 5.25pm, Channel 4
Another Christmas must-see.
A boy has to fend for himself when he is accidentally left behind after his family jets off to Paris for Christmas.
The youngster initially enjoys his freedom, but is soon forced to resort to a series of hilarious booby traps to defend the family home from two dim-witted burglars.
Starring Macaulay Culkin, Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern, John Heard, Catherine O'Hara and John Candy.
Sunday 25th
Annie - 11am, More4
An orphan wins the fatherly affections of a tough-talking billionaire - but the no-good owner of the orphanage and her brother are out to ruin the girl's chances of happiness and make a quick profit in the process.
Starring Aileen Quinn, Albert Finney, Carol Burnett and Tim Curry.
It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie - 12.55pm, RTE2
Kermit and his friends battle to save their beloved theatre from bankruptcy and the schemes of a grasping banker, but the hopeless situation proves too much for the stout-hearted frog.
Luckily, a trainee angel intervenes and shows him why his efforts are so important for all concerned.
Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again - 8pm, ITV2
The follow up to one of the most-loved musicals of all time.
It's five years since Sophie invited her three possible dads to her wedding, and now most of her family are reunited as she prepares for the grand reopening of the Hotel Bella Donna.
The second installment of the Abba-themed musical, stars Amanda Seyfried, Lily James, Pierce Brosnan, Cher and Andy Garcia.
