The laziness is rife.

When you move out, whether you're off to college or just want some independence, there's one thing you're sure to miss - the home-cooked meals.

Left to our own devices, we often get lazy with meal prep and just throw together the contents of the fridge or order a takeaway.

So, naturally, when we visit our parents, one thing we look forward to is a good roast dinner.

And what makes it taste even better? Not having to cook it yourself.

But what if you're roped in to give a helping hand in the cooking? Have you ever pretended you're unsure of what to do, just to get out of it?

Well, you're not the only one!

A new study has found that 6 in 10 young people have pretended not to know how to cook to avoid having to help.

The survey, of 3,000 Americans found that more than half of adults prefer to use a ready-meal rather than properly get cooking.

The OnePoll study (on behalf of TABASCO Brand) that nearly four in five (78%) believe they’ve developed better grilling skills than the person who taught them.
