Let's see what you'd do...

A woman has taken to Reddit to ask the good people of the internet their opinion on a recent almost-date she had.

She's questioning her own actions because her friends weren't exactly on her side afterwards.

However, most people who replied on the forum disagreed with her friends.

The woman told her story on the website and said she had planned to meet a guy at 6pm at a restaurant.

Around 5:30 he asked if they could push to 6:30 because he was running a bit behind and wanted to make sure he was there on time.

She said she was a little annoyed because she was ready to leave but understood.

The woman got to the restaurant at 6:25 and got a message from him five minutes later with the guy saying he was just leaving his house and is stuck in traffic.

She explained how he lives almost 30 minutes from the meeting place, so at this, she was losing her patience, even more so when he asked for the restaurant address again.

The woman explains her next move: "I politely told him that punctuality is really important to me, this isn’t a great first impression, and that I don’t think we should meet up. He kept insisting he was “almost there” and was very apologetic but I ended up leaving the restaurant around 6:45."

We, and most of the Reddit users who commented, reckoned she was dead right to give up on him.

However, her friends weren't really on her side:

"My friends told me I overreacted and I should’ve given him a second chance because he could be my “soulmate”, but in my mind I was setting boundaries for myself."

Several commented that they doubt it was her soulmate:

"Your 'soulmate' wouldn't waste your time like that & would pay attention to little details like where they're supposed to be meeting you."

What do you think?
