Dog owners planning summer holidays are being advised to book kennel accommodation due to increased demand for spaces.
Kennels and dog minders are turning away new customers because of pressure on their services.
Manager of Irish Rossette Pet Hotel, Brendan Daly is one of those who says they are now turning pets away:
"Currently demand is very high, and unfortunately we have had to refuse a good few people. Ever since lockdown lifted, everyone's trying to book a holiday away".
Pet ownership surged during the pandemic according to a CSO study.
One in five people living with pet said that they had acquired it during the pandemic.
The advice is clear if you have a pet and you plan to travel.
