Is your mum or your dad a better driver?

We all spend a lot of time in the car when we're growing up.
Whether it's road trips, on holiday or being ferried to and from school or sports practice, there's plenty of opportunity to get to grips with how our parents are behind the wheel.
A study of 1,000 young people between the age of 6 and 16 has found 43% think their dad is the ‘best’ behind the wheel, with only 29% opting for mum. But they do say he tends to have more road rage!
Reasons Dad made the top choice included the fact he drives faster, drives for a job or has a van!
Despite all that, 32% of respondents say they actually prefer being in the car with their mammy, with a main reason being she's more likely to join in-car games like I-Spy during a journey.
The research was commissioned by car manufacturer MG via OnePoll also found dads win at all driving techniques, including being best at both reverse and parallel parking, hill starts and three-point turns.
But at the other end of the scale 46 per cent of children also said their mum is most likely to bump the vehicle on a kerb or another car, compared to just a sixth who believe their dad would do this.
If it's any consolation though, mums were voted as having the best taste in music.
Dads were found to be most strict when driving, with the top in-car rules including no arguing (36%), no wrappers or rubbish to be left in the car (48%) and no shoes on the seats (41%).
