If you took up Dry January, it might be a good idea to continue.

One in three people are now more likely to go on a dry-date post-pandemic.

That's according to a new survey released by Bumble.

Dry date simply means a date without alcohol.

66 per cent of people surveyed said they would form a more genuine connection on a date if they avoided alcohol.

Dr Caroline West, relationships expert for Bumble says that the closure of pubs during the pandemic has also had an impact.

"People had to get a little bit more creative so that they could get a coffee, go for a walk and have a chat" she said. "The way that we're dating has really changed now and going forward into 2022, because people have found that there's so many positives to it...and that's exactly what you want from a date."

Head of Bumble UK and Ireland Naomi Walkland also said 2021 brought about a massive change in dating in people re-evaluating lifestyles and being clear in what they want. "

“In fact, more than half of people on Bumble globally say that they are now more upfront with partners about what they want" she added.

The survey also identified more dating trends going forward into 2022.

48% of people on Bumble now question their ideal type.

43% say they're being more “exploratory” in dating, and a huge 68% of people using Bumble say that the pandemic has made them a lot more open to PDA.

However for those of you that want to start or spend the year single, you're not alone.

53% of people said they're okay with being single for a while, and 54% are thinking more about how and when they date.

What do you think about these findings? Are you also more likely to go on a dry-date?
