Instagram first launched in October 2010.

Social media giant Instagram are set to enhance their mobile app with some brand new features.

After the introduction of 'Reels' last year to closely resemble TikTok - it's further expanding the app.

Reports suggest it's going to test a new feature that allows users to make audio and video calls.

It would be a similar move to the likes of WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger, as well as Apple's FaceTime.

At the moment, instant messaging and audio recording is the only form of communication available for Instagram users.

Another feature reportedly being tested is the ability to autosave drafts of your stories.

Previously, if there was a poor internet connection or you exited the app before posting, the draft would be lost.

Instagram is unique in that it is made up of almost entirely users who access the mobile version.

However last month, Instagram allowed users to post via the web which was welcomed by many who work in social media.
