iOS 16, which is released today, will allow people to retrieve a message up to 2 minutes after it's sent.
However, senders will be warned that although the message has been un-sent, the recipient may have already seen it.
There will also be a new feature to allow messages to be edited up to five times, 15 minutes after the message was sent.
Apple is finally giving its iPhone users what they want! In iOS16, you’ll be able to unsend and edit text messages. Also the new safety check feature will support those in abusive relationship! There are other features but these two seem to have the people talking! https://t.co/ZB8gDlpEHL

But beware! It's not a total get out of jail free card
However, the recipient will be able to see all previous versions of the edited message in slightly grayed-out chat bubbles.
