They'll go head to head for the overall title!

The five Best Places to Live in Ireland have been named, according to a competition by The Irish Times.

They are.....

  • Clonakilty, Co Cork
  • Galway City
  • Glaslough Co. Monaghan
  • Killarney, Co Kerry
  • Waterford City

Over the course of the summer, 2,400 members of the public nominated the place they thought was the best place to live.

470 locations were chosen and a panel of judges choose 5 to make the shortlist.

The criteria used by the panel included natural amenities, community initiatives and spirit, transport links, the price of property, employment opportunities, cost of living and more!

The five shortlisted candidates will go head to head for the overall title of Best Place to Live in Ireland.

And that winner will be announced on 25 September.
