One Reddit user has called it a "Hamspiracy".
While others simple claimed it's a sales rouse.
Whatever it is, it's gotten people talking .
We're talking about packets of ham and the so-called "easy-peel" tab.

No, this is about which side the tab is on.
One user put a photo up of a packet of ham, with the open tab on the opposite side to the top slice.
They captioned it:
Petition to put the peel tab on the CORRECT side of the packet where the first slice will be taken from? Surely I’m not the only one who doesn’t wanna get grease ham hands for the first slice. Why do they do this?
And it seems there are plenty of people who'd be signing that petition.
One user said: "I absolutely endorse this message. It’s baffling".
Many said it's designed to make your ham dry out faster as you have to open more of the packet:
"Sounds like that's by design then to get you to buy another pack sooner..."
"Drives me mental. But I think that's the point. You'll buy more ham that way.."
