Lazy or do we just not have the time?

Adulting is hard - you've to work, pay rent, bills, sort out your car insurance and feed yourself...

So who has time for getting broken appliances fixed these days?

Apparently, not too many feel they have the time, as a new study has shown plenty of us are willing to put a repair off for up to four months.

Local Heroes, surveyed 2,000 people for the research, according to SWNS Digital.

People said they'd put up with a faulty heater for more than 12 weeks and a dodgy radiator for three months before trying to organise a fix.

Other things we put off fixing tend to be broken fridges, freezers and cookers.

38 per cent of those surveyed say they're delayed repairing household items due to lack of time, while 28 per cent simply don’t have the tools for the job.

But 47 per cent admitted they often just ignore a problem they could probably sort out themselves.

The OnePoll survey found that more than half of adults would rather get an expert in to do a job.

It seems people are feeling that people could do with being a bit more economical too though.

82 per cent of adults think people are now too quick to replace something that’s either broken or old rather than giving it a go themselves.

52 per cent resent paying the cost of getting someone in to do the job when they could learn the skills to repair themselves.
