It equates to one hour and 43 minutes a day of waiting.
We live in a world now where speed is key: fast takeaways, self check-out tills and more.
Despite that though, we still spend a fair bit of time a day waiting around.
A new study has shown that we spend around one hour 43 minutes a day waiting.
That adds up to 26 days a year, according to swns digital.
From the study of 2,000 people, it was found the most draining thing is being on hold on the phone.
Does the background music ever even make it better?
Other big things we 'waste' time on includes sitting in traffic, scrolling through social media and waiting for the kettle to boil.

More than half of those surveyed by Duolingo said they know they should be more productive with their free time.
But sometimes you just don't have it in you after a long day of work.
While 23 percent did say they do use their time effectively by trying to learn a new skill in their free time.
But 38 percent of people reckon it's too easy to waste time on their phone or watching TV instead.
While 22 per cent don’t know how they want to better spend their time.
According to the study these were the top 10 most irritating things to wait around for:
- Being on hold
- Waiting in a queue
- Sitting in traffic
- Trying to ring the Doctor’s surgery
- Waiting for a delivery to arrive
- Commuting
- Scrolling social media / Amazon Prime and TV channels
- Waiting for laundry to finish
- Getting served in a restaurant
- Waiting for a cup of tea to brew
