We love a good tutorial.

Adulting is a sometimes stressful, but necessary part of life.

After college, and once you move out and have a job, it really isn't acceptable to bring the laundry home to your mam anymore.

So, you've to do it yourself, but our question is: where did you learn the right way to put on a wash.

New research has found that a fifth of young people learned how to do their washing from social media tips and tutorials.

Swash® Laundry Detergent who commissioned the survey revealed that 65% of young people believe laundry is a skill that needs to be taught or learned.

And 42% say their parents or older relatives showed them how to put on wash properly.

23% learned by experimenting on their own and 19% learned from looking at social media tips and tutorials.

Those surveyed found YouTube (43%) and Instagram (38%) to be the most helpful.

More than two-thirds of US respondents reckon their laundry game is on point, claiming they know how to wash “the right way”.

The survey conducted by One Pool looked at how young people do their laundry.

From the 2,000 millennials and Gen Zers, the survey found that 69% are convinced they know how to do laundry correctly.

Although there’s some debate when it comes to separating clothes.

Around 29% believe the right way to separate laundry is by white and colours, while 26% insist that light and dark is the way to go — and 22% do both.
