The new shop on Dublin's Grafton Street, has features such as 'mini-figure factory', where people can design and create their own Lego person.
Hundreds have made the trip from across the country, queuing since the early hours of this morning.
A father and son from Wexford were the first to cross the threshold this morning:
Jacob Sutton (11) and his Dad Mike from Wexford town who have been waiting since 8pm last night outside the Lego store on Grafton Street in Dublin. They’ll be the first inside the store at 9am this morning

A wrist band system has been in place since 8am, as well as a time limit for browsing of 30 minutes - it's expected that system will remain in place over the weekend.
The store contains plenty of Irish references too, including a model of the Poolbeg Towers, the Aviva Stadium, a very big LEGO camogie player with a large Dublin mural.
