Could you imagine- Mark Ruffalo nearly quit the movie 13 Going On 30 over the dance scenes.

Jennifer Garner has said her 13 Going on 30 co-star Mark Ruffalo nearly gave up his role in the hit rom-com.

The Avengers actors reportedly couldn't get the dancing scenes down.

Garner, who played Jenna Rink in the much-loved 2004 movie, said Ruffalo almost quit his role as Matt 'Matty' Flamhaff over a scene involving a dance routine to Michael Jackson's Thriller.

Speaking on the Skimm's Texting With digital series, Garner recalled: "We started to learn the dance.

"Our first rehearsal I think it was like Mark [Ruffalo], Judy [Greer], and me, and Judy and I were both dancers growing up, and poor Mark didn't know that and he came in and he hated the rehearsal process so much he almost dropped out of the movie."

Garner and Ruffalo have teamed-up once again for a new movie called The Adam Project, which sees the pair play the parents of Ryan Reynolds' character, a man who travels back in time to get help from his 13-year-old self.

"It was wonderful. We were playing a married couple and we just had this instant comfort and obviously there's just such a connection and a warmth.

"It was actually a really beautiful experience to revisit that relationship," she said.

Well there you have it- how different would the movie have been if Ruffalo had quit!
