A shortage of Mars bars has been reported in the UK.

The Guardian reports that a major British retailer says a production issue on Mars’s end may be the cause, however, Mars Wrigley says it's experiencing high levels of demand.

In a statement to the paper, the treat producer said its Mars, Snickers, Bounty and Twix bars are still available nationwide.

Some shops and supermarkets in Britain aren't expecting deliveries of Mars bars for another two weeks.

Meanwhile, Nestlé, which makes KitKats and other chocolate brands, has blamed 'significant and unprecedented cost inflation' for a 6.5 percent rise in prices in the first half of this year.
