A new survey by Excel Recruitment found a further third of bosses say they were uncertain as to whether they would be increasing workers' pay.
However, despite the prospect of salary increases, 74 per cent of employees say they could look for a new job in 2022.
The research found salaries are increasing across the board, as certain sectors feel the shortage of a supply of talent.
The same survey of found 74% of employees could be looking for new jobs this year, while 56% of firms will be hiring more staff over the coming months.
Business journalist , Joe Lynam, says the survey throws up some interesting findings:
"So on the one hand, wages will be going up for existing staff but a huge number of us, three quarters supposedly, looking for new jobs"
