image via PixabayHave you ever chatted to a your hobbies or interests, only to open your phone and find an ad related in some way to the conversation you've just had?
Most Irish people say they find it "creepy" when their phone shows ads based on conversations they've had.
That's according to a survey of over 11 thousand people by Deloitte, which found two thirds were alarmed by the way companies track their personal data.
Our Technology Correspondent Jess Kelly says there's no public evidence our devices are listening to us, but says they do track our online activity:
"When you utilise a search engine, social media platform or pretty much anything online, you are leaving little footprints behind.
Therefore these big tech companies can put your data up for bidding essentially by other companies, who then buy that space and offer you ads"
