The risk of heart failure apparently increases by a fifth if you've vaped at some point.

A US study of more than 175,000 people - including those who've never used e-cigarettes - reveals nearly 3,242 developed heart failure within 45 months.

They developed a particular condition when the heart muscle becomes stiff and doesn't properly fill with blood between contractions.

In December, Ireland introduced a ban on the sale of -cigarettes or vapes to children.

The new laws, mean it is an offence to sell a nicotine product to under 18s.

If people break the rules, they could get a €4,000 fine or up to six months in prison.
