Those couple of days between Christmas and New Years are a weird time.

Those couple of days in between Stephens Say and New Years Eve can feel like a blur.

Everyone is coming down off the highs of Christmas Day, there are only Bountys left in the Celebrations tin and you've already played forty rounds of card games with your family.

Not to worry. We've a few ideas on how you can fill this weird void:

Take up a new hobby

Forget the cliche that is 'new year, new me'. Start as early as you can with your new year hobbies. Learn how to knit, ride a bike, paint a picture, the world is your oyster!

Taking up a new hobby is a great way to get ahead of yourself and try something different while you have the time.

Host a games night

If there is one thing guaranteed at Christmas, a board game (or two) will definitely be brought into the house.

Since the festive season is so busy, people may not have got around to visiting all their family or friends. So why not gather round anyone you missed, on one of the days between Christmas and the New Yar, for a night of catch ups and potential fall outs while playing a game of monopoly?

What's the worst that can happen?

Learn a new recipe

Christmas dinner, Tayto sandwiches and every last piece of trifle has already been gobbled up.

What can we eat next? You could use these couple of days to try out a new recipe or master one of your favourites. No matter what you cook up, it's bound to be a welcome break from all the turkey. That's a win-win!

Go for a hike

Find a mountain or a hill with a safe walking trail, get your hats on, and head outside.

Sometimes there is nothing better than getting out in the frosty air and clearing your head, all while taking in the beautiful scenery Ireland has to offer.

This is a great idea for anyone who wants to keep active and it'll benefit your noggin too.

Simply catch up on sleep

This may be a no brainer, but as previously stated, Christmas can be a very hectic and stressful time of year.

Use the couple of days between Christmas and the New Year to catch up on some well needed sleep. It's important.
