This hack doesn't involve some kind of fancy soap or pre-washing your knives and forks beforehand - all you need is a certain household item that you definitely already have in the kitchen somewhere...
Tinfoil!
Apparently, putting tinfoil into your dishwasher when you're loading it up, is all you need to give your utensils and extra bit of shine.
It's not even a case of wrapping each individual knife, fork and spoon separately in the stuff - all you have to do is roll up a ball of foil and chuck it in.

Apparently there's some kind of chemical reaction that happens between the soap and the foil ball that gives cutlery a mighty shine.
